Code Of Conduct
BPA (Brazilian Professionals Abroad) is a network of Brazilian professionals living in the United States, dedicated to professional growth, mutual support, and generating positive impact. A harmonious and productive environment depends on everyone’s commitment to the principles and rules described below.
1. Member Profile

Be Brazilian or have a direct connection to Brazil (e.g., spouse, partner, child, or former resident);

Be an active or retired professional working in the U.S.;

Demonstrate ethical, collaborative, and respectful behavior, contributing to the group’s goals.
2. General Code of Conduct

Act with common sense, integrity, and respect;

Uphold BPA’s purpose as a professional network focused on growth, support, and connections;

Avoid any behavior that may embarrass, exclude, or harm other members.
3. Posts and Interactions
✅ Do's:

Share content that promotes professional development, networking, and exchange of experiences;

Respect different opinions and remain courteous, even in disagreements;

Use professional, objective, and respectful language;

All posts are subject to approval, if your post is not approved within 24-48h or deleted that means it didn't follow our guidelines.
❌ Don'ts:

Post political, religious, or ideologically charged content;
-
Engage in excessive self-promotion, spam, or direct selling without context or clear community benefit;

Share offensive, sarcastic, suggestive, or distasteful messages;

Form side groups with BPA members for purposes that exclude others;

Share personal information about members without consent.
4. BPA Forums

Networking Forum: Discussions on the job market, professional opportunities, professionals or business updates.

Events Forum: Announcements of events hosted by members ONLY.

Café Forum: Space for social and casual interactions.

Arts & Culture Forum: Sharing and discussing art, culture, and creativity.

Finance Forum: Exchanges on personal finance, investments, and sector-related topics.

Marketplace Forum: Special deals or exclusive offers for members.
All forums follow BPA’s core values: respect, professionalism, and positive contribution.
5. Consequences for Code Violations

First incident: Formal warning via private message with guidance.

Repeated behavior: Two-week suspension from communication channels.

Ongoing issues: Permanent removal from the network or non-renewal of membership.
All actions will be taken collectively by the Board, with clear documentation and without public exposure.
6. Privacy, Diversity, and Safety

BPA values diversity of backgrounds, experiences, opinions, and professions.

Discriminatory, prejudiced, or exclusionary behavior will not be tolerated.

Members’ personal data is protected and only shared with consent.

The environment must remain safe, welcoming, and professional for all.
7. Membership Committee

A representative from the Membership Committee will contact new members to introduce how the group works, set up your profile in our directory, teach how to use our exclusive networking platform, present the board members, share participation opportunities, and answer questions.
8. Commitment to the Mission

Contribute ethically, actively, and respectfully to strengthening Brazilian professionals in the U.S.;

Support social causes relevant to the community;
