Code Of Conduct

The principal criteria for acceptance into the BPA network are that member must be (1) a Brazilian or a Brazilian-connected person such as a spouse, domestic partner, child, or a non-Brazilian person who is a former resident of Brazil now living in the U.S. and (2) be an active or retired professional in the U.S.

BPA’s policy is to uphold the highest ethical standards of conduct from all its members. In general, the use of good judgment should guide BPA’s members. However, if a situation arises where it is difficult to determine the proper course of conduct, or where questions arise concerning the propriety of certain conduct by an individual, the matter should be deliberated by
the Board of Directors and could result in the removal of the individual violating BPA’s Code of Conduct.

We expect our members to avoid posting messages that do not aggregate to BPA's overall objective of professional growth of its members and the promotion of social causes.

MEMBERS ARE EXPECTED TO REFRAIN FROM USING BPA' S CHANNELS OF COMMUNICATION FOR POSTING MATERIAL OR SHARING OPINIONS THAT HAVE RELIGIOUS OR POLITICAL CONNOTATIONS OR MESSAGES THAT ARE SOCIALLY OF BAD TASTE.

Any member who does not observe these rules will first receive a warning, followed by a suspension of two weeks and finally will suffer removal from the network.

BPA maintains six Forums and we encourage you to participate; however, keep in mind that these Forums were created for the sole purpose of facilitating the interactions of Members.

A high-level definition of the purpose of each Forum is provided below but if you are unsure of the appropriateness of a particular message, do not hesitate to contact any member of the Board of Directors for further guidance.
